Student Biography

MinGao is a 5th year Architectural Engineering student in Pennsylvania State University. In July 28 he will be graduating with an integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree in the structural option of the program. In the past MinGao participated in many volunteering work. These events included working as a blood drive and Philadelphia's children summer camp volunteer. He learnt how to interact with people in various age and working as a team as a result from these activities.

In the summer of 2012, MinGao worked as an intern for the Pennsylvania State facilities engineering institute. Over the summer, he inspected existing PennDot buildings on field and gathered information needed for the Revit model of the building. On the field, his mentor also taught him many causes that would lead to the building's immediate collapse. After recognizing the need to rebuild many of these old PennDot buildings, he is asked to create several Revit models in order to accurately evaluate the total cost of these buildings.

MinGao also won many honors and scholarships throughout his five years in college. He is included in the Dean's list and eligible for smart grants. In addition, he is awarded with the Baird Gladys and Strawbridge Trustee scholarships. During his spare time, MinGao enjoys the time with his friends, going to bible studies, and reading online articles about recent news.
